Cristina Steingräber

Cristina Steingräber is the founder of ArchiTangle, a publisher focused on socially engaged architectural practice and urbanism. Her academic and professional efforts focus on interdisciplinary knowledge transfer on how architecture can engage with other disciplines in shaping the built environment.

Steingräber, initially a curator at the Nationalgalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (SMB), was later appointed head of the SMB’s publications department in 2004. Thereafter, Steingräber served as programme director and CEO of the leading global art publisher Hatje Cantz (2006–17). She holds a PhD in art and architectural history from Kiel University (CAU) alongside an MBA in economic sciences from the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Steingräber is frequently engaged as an invited lecturer, critic, and jury member within the fields of art and architecture.
