Maxwell Blake

Maxwell Blake was a career diplomat of the United States, born in Kansas City, Missouri.  He attended Scarritt College and the University of Missouri, and then entered the Foreign Service in 1906. According to the web site of the State Department Historian's Office, he served in Morocco from 1912 to 1922, first as Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, then as Agent/Consult General, and as Diplomatic Agent/Consul General from 1925-1940. He was responsible for the expansion of the Tangier American Legation in the 1920.
