Archival Exhibitions - Notes from the Archives

Occasionally, we have the opportunity to share the physical archives of the Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT Libraries, by organizing a display, or mini-exhibition of some of our archival artifacts.  When the Program Head, Aga Khan Documentation Center, and Co-Director of Archnet, Sharon C. Smith, Ph.D., was President of the Association of the Middle East Librarians Association, just such an opportunity presented itself.  We set up a display, which attendees of the association's annual conference, held that year on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, were invited to see on location at the Center.  We welcomed quite a number of visitors, about 15 were able to visit us on in our offices on the first floor of Rotch Library on November 15 and 16, 2016.

It is hard to pick what to display, but for this we chose selections from the following archival collections (top right on the table, to lower left in the image):

Bing & Harrington Balkan Archives
Timurid Architecture Archive

For more about our physical archives please visit collections on our website, or the finding aids - notes from the archives collection here on Archnet.
