A Minaic Dedicatory Inscription by the Wife of King Waqahʾīl Ṣādiq / نقش إهداء معيني من قبل زوجة الملك وقه إيل صادق
This study examines a newly discovered Minaic inscription that documents for the first time the wife of the Minaean king, Waqahʾīl Ṣādiq, offering sacrifices to the Minaean deity Wadd and dedicating both herself and her possessions to his protection. The research aims to analyze the inscription in terms of its structure and meaning while also exploring the implications of its vocabulary by comparing it to other ancient South Arabian inscriptions and Semitic languages. In addition, the study attempts to date the inscription to the reign of King Waqahʾīl Ṣādiq, probably around the 3rd century BCE.

يتناول البحث دراسة نقش معيني جديد، يتضمن ولأول مرة قيام زوجة الملك المعيني وقه إيل صدق بتقديم قرابين للمعبود المعيني ودّ، ووضع نفسها وممتلكاتها في حمايته. وقد ركز البحث على شرح مضمون النقش سواء في المبنى أو في المعنى، ومناقشة دلالات مفرداته في ضوء معانيها في النقوش العربية الجنوبية القديمة واللغات السامية، كما جرت محاولة لتأريخ النقش بناءً على فترة حكم الملك المعيني وقه إيل صدق إلى حوالي القرن الثالث ق.م.
