Yeşil Külliye
Bursa, Türkiye

The complex of Ottoman sultan Mehmet I, known as Yeşil (Green) is a multi-functional complex comprising several buildings constructed on a hilly site overlooking Bursa and the river valley to the north. Inscriptions and endowment deeds (vakfiye) date the construction of the complex to ca. 1419-1424/822-827 AH, and attributes the construction to the architect Haci Ivaz Pasa, a vizier to Murad II who was the prefect (subasi) of Bursa at the time. It contains a mosque, a mausoleum, two madrasas (medrese), baths (hammam), a soup kitchen (imaret), a Koranic school for boys (sibyan mektebi) and a palace; the palace, the boy's school and one of the two madrasas do not survive.
