2015-18 Survey

This structure has an ASI cultural asset signboard. In 1959-62, the south side was closed, but it is now open. There is filler in the stonework, and surfaces were covered with stucco during repairs. The building has since been neglected; it is buried further underground compared to 1959-62, and there is water collecting inside.

(Paragraphs 2nd, 3rd, and 4th from the 2015-18 Survey is translated using Google Translate)

[Plan] A wall-type dome building with a mihrab on the west side and openings on three sides.

[Exterior] The central sections of the four sides protrude and are slightly raised. A capstone is attached to the top of the south-facing bay window, and a nave roof is placed on top. Beams and columns are used within the arches of the openings, and while there is no opening on the west side, there is a small arch in the center. Multi-petaled arches are placed on the walls, and an octagonal drum is surrounded by an arched capstone, topped by a bell-shaped dome with large lotus petals at the top.

[Interior] An octagon is formed by a squinch arch, followed by a 16-sided polygon with five layers of thin bands on top, and then a dome is placed on top. Beneath the squinch arch, there are recessed arches on both sides of the opening arch. The mihrab uses an arch of the same height as the squinch arch and is decorated with lavish reliefs. There are steps cut into the walls on both ends of the opening on the south side, and bay windows.
