Science for Peace and Development

Celebrated every 10 November, World Science Day for Peace and Development highlights the significant role of science in society and the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues. It also underlines the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives. (https://en.unesco.org/commemorations/worldscienceday)

This year's theme is "Science for a with Society in dealing with the global pandemic." This is certainly a timely and important theme. Containing and ultimately defeating the pandemic requires each to respond in a manner that recognizes our social obligations to one another and the global community. In this collection, however, we focus on architecture and science, specifically buildings designer for teaching, research, and the application of science. 

The collection provides a sampling of what is available in Archnet, but it is far from exhaustive.  it is a departure point for further explorations.  We also invite you to explore the Archnet Timeline to learn more about the role of science in Muslim societies throughout history.
