2015-18 Survey

This structure has become the west wall of the Chiragh Delhi dargah grounds and is thickly covered in white. Certain elements seen in 1959-62, such as the stucco relief (band of inscriptions and designs) surrounding the center mihrab, the kangura above it, and the small arched niches on either side (and inside the arches of adjoining mihrabs) have disappeared without a trace. The turret on the eastern edge of the south side wall, and the low walls extending from the side wall have also been removed. Among the number of cenotaphs that existed on the east side, one cenotaph in the center has been repaired, while most of the others have been hidden beneath a concrete floor.

(Paragraph 2nd from the 2015-18 Survey is translated using Google Translate)

[Wall Mosque] According to Monuments of Delhi, the west wall is 7.6 meters wide. It is a wall mosque with three mihrabs and sleeve walls, with low walls extending east from both sleeve walls. A series of cruciform cutouts surround the central mihrab, and above that is a decorative capstone with carved multi-lobed arches. Originally, there was an octagonal turret at the eastern end of the sleeve wall, above the central mihrab, topped with a petal-shaped jewel. A low wall extends from the sleeve wall, forming a U-shaped enclosure, and the eastern part of the low north wall bends to the east, and the low wall also has an ornamental top.
