Gwendolyn
is a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard University's joint program for History of Art
and Architecture and Middle Eastern Studies. She specializes in Ottoman
painting and social history. Her dissertation analyzes costume albums produced
by Ottoman bazaar artists and their translations into European turquerie across
media. She also is the Visual Resources Librarian for Islamic Art and
Architecture at Harvard’s Fine Arts Library. She curated the physical and
online exhibition, “
A Burlesque Artist in Cairo: Miss Kitty Lord and Her Egyptian Tours, 1908-1912.”
